Øyvind Vågnes (PhD 2007), presently affiliated with the research project The Power of the Precarious Aesthetic, is a co-founding member of the Nomadikon research group. Zaprudered: The Kennedy Assassination Film in Visual Culture (University of Texas Press, 2011) received honorable mention at the American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE) Awards, and won the Peter C. Rollins Book Award. Author of an extensive range of publications in international and national anthologies and journals in recent years, he is also the editor of anthologies and one of the two founding editors of Ekfrase: Nordisk Tidsskrift for Visuell Kultur (Universitetsforlaget). A book-length study of non-fiction graphic novels in Norwegian, Den dokumentariske teikneserien, was published in 2014 (Universitetsforlaget).
